Welcome to the first chapter of eclipse season! The upcoming solar eclipse opens up a gateway for meaningful change, especially around the Self, ego, and how you move in the world (solar = yang/divine masculine energy). This solar power can supercharge your intentions and introspections at the dark new moon and into its waxing phase… More on that below.
The astrological new year and ingress into Aries season occurred at the end of last month, but we are now in the FULL swing of Aries rebirth energy. This is due, in part, to having a second new moon in Aries on the 19th/20th, which falls in one of the final degrees of the sign and is also a total solar eclipse. This new moon peaks right before the sun shifts into Taurus just a few hours later, offering second chances connected to releases and simultaneous new opportunities, along with new/evolved awareness around identity. Intra-personally, this is a portal of second chance opportunity for energetic death and rebirth, especially connected to identity and how you define and express your Self.
The full moon in Libra (the Pink Moon) on the 5th/6th will likely bring to light and culmination feelings (moon = feelings) and thoughts (Libra = air sign) around wants and needs in relationships. The Mercury/Mars sextile encourages speaking up and processing any friction between what you want (Aries sun) and what others want (Libra moon), which may be productive/less fawning with Mars giving the people-pleasing shadow part of Libra more oomph. Chiron is also hugging the Sun at this time, so how and from whom you’ve been hurt or hurt others, with a major opportunity for healing, is very present. Try to allow truth and acceptance to prevail over ego defenses, otherwise, this pattern will show up again in another form or relationship.
There are a handful of notable Venus and Taurus transits, too, which sets April up for bringing grounded awareness to themes of self-worth, personal value, our relationships to money as energy, and our relationships to relationships. For this air moon, write out your full moon releases, anyone you send forgiveness to, and speak them all aloud facing east (air element direction), light it on fire and place in cauldron to safely burn, and finally blow the ashes into the wind away from your home.

“Under the light of this full moon, I bring awareness and gratitude to all the abundance in my life. I allow this gratitude to make space for further exploration and gentle guidance to where there is any lack of truth, honesty, or unmet needs in my relationships with others and myself. I move through any stagnant or dense energy in my identity and authenticity by leaning into curiosity and healthy compromise with others. I ask Spirit to help me identify my needs in my relationships, as well as compassionately acknowledge the needs of others. FULL MOON MEDICINE
Libra rules the skin, kidneys, endocrine system, veins, and lower back/bum. Drink lots of water and green tea to flush kidneys and be mindful of booze and sugar. Stretch your back by doing the legs-up-the-wall pose, cat-cow, sphinx or cobra, or other lower back yoga poses. Do a cleansing bath or shower with salts and herbs to cleanse your auric field and skin while improving your circulation with a scrub.
The black moon cycle we are in is embraced by Aries energy… This cycle means there are 2 back-to-back new moons in Aries. The last new moon fell at the 0 degree, indicating rebirth and fresh energy, and this black moon falls at 29 degrees (a “critical degree”) indicating wrapping up of chapters/karmic cycles/closures that are likely around major and/or long-term themes. However, being a new moon and in Aries, there is a closing of one door and an unlocking and opening of a new door almost simultaneously.
This may feel like jumping timelines and entering into whole new realities, like you took off foggy goggles you’ve been wearing for a while and now see a fresh new reality, regardless of physical environment. For others, actually moving environments (home, work, social groups, etc.) are very possible, because as the vibration of the earth is rising, so is everyone’s consciousness, so serendipity and anchoring to higher frequencies are creating more flow and synchronicity.
The new moon also makes a square to Pluto, who loves excavation and transformation. Pluto is currently in Aquarius, bringing up themes around collective power and collective trauma. Aries can be a “confident child” archetype that breaks transgenerational trauma cycles and forges ahead to the beat of their own drum, creating a new identity based on soul alignment. The gusto and confidence of Aries is available to all at this time, and with the empowering and transformative Pluto energy, busting out of old identities, changing looks, and for some, changing names/putting dead names to rest, are very blessed right now, especially in this solar (self/ego) eclipse portal that is open.
