New Moon in Aries

March 21st, 2023
New Moon @ 0 degrees of Aries
9:23 am PST / 12:23 pm EST (with daylight savings time observed)
Analysis
Aries, the cardinal fire sign, is the very first of the zodiac. It’s a sign known for its independence and willingness to forge on. This is the very first New Moon in the astrological new year. This begins once the Sun moves into Aries, as it did starts to the day before on March 20th. For astrologers and those from the Northern Hemisphere, we call this the Spring equinox. This is the welcoming of new energy and new life. Those of you wanting to set new personal “new year” goals, now is your time! We promise they’re more likely to stick than the ones set in January :)

SUPER NEW MOON IN ARIES
Reclaiming Your Sacred Fire in the Womb of the Divine Feminine
March 21, 2023 @ 0 degrees of Aries
10:23 am PST  //  1:23 pm EST
SYNOPSIS:

This new moon has all the signatures of rebirth and fresh starts… It is in the Aries, the 1st house sign, at 0 degrees—the “youngest” degree of 30 in a sign, on a new moon. This is the zodiacal new year! So even if you had a clunky start to the new year, this is an energy portal that allows a big “reset” button smash for fresh starts.

Speaking of fresh starts, one of HUGEST transits of the year, and in recent years, is Pluto’s move into Aquarius. Pluto has been in Cap for 15 years… That’s a LONG time, y’all, especially for the planet of power who gut renovates our metaphorical houses, vacuuming, and lysol-ing everything for the purpose of personal empowerment and transformation. It has been doing all this heavy duty work in one particular house for you, and is now gathering its cleaning supplies, laying what has died to rest, and cheering on the rebirth that is unfolding until it retrogrades mid-year. Now, you can prepare for new Pluto energy in a new house (see intro for your house). Pulling all of that in with this new moon in a rebirth house seems extremely significant. With transformation comes healing, with change comes growth and empowerment.

For many healing the Witch Wound from transgenerational trauma instigated during the Burning Times will feel activated now, but in an empowering, beautiful way. Witches have reclaimed fire, the master classical element that transmutes, cleanses, and allows for new growth. For everyone, no matter your gender, lean into the fire and creativity of the Divine Feminine through the veil of Aries’ bold and passionate rebirth spirit. Allow the darkness of new moon increase your intuition and extra-senses to claim the power within you. Return to that power and do ritual of any fame to commemorate your personal rebirth and the honoring of the divine women that came before you. Even if you do not have positive experiences in your family of origin with women, know that there are Divine Feminine ancestors of the light who are cheering for you and loving you so deeply now, the way you are coming into loving yourself more. I’ve probably said this line before from a beloved professor who is an amazing therapist and dance/movement therapy coach, but I love it and tell it to all my clients: BE HEALTHY SELFISH.

Ritualistic Inspirations

Try This:

New Moon in Aries Fire Intention Ritual + Protective Salt
You will need:
Simple Steps:
  1. Time this ritual for first thing in the morning March 21st, when the New Moon has just taken place. Burn protective incense or dragons blood resin.
  2. Open sacred space before performing your ritual.
  3. Lite your single candle and focus on an intention for you specifically, something new you hope to achieve. Take your pen and paper and write the intention out. Use phrases like “I AM, I HAVE, I ACHIEVE,” etc.…
  4. When you are finished, fold the note into a smaller square. Bring this note to your forehead and tap three times on your third eye, repeating your intention out loud. This is to activate the intention in your consciousness.
  5. When you are ready and focused, carefully lite the intention note with a match and allow it to burn. Be sure this is done in a well-ventilated space, and left to burn in a fire-safe dish.
  6. When finished, keep the ash. This ash may be mixed with pure sea salt to create a powerful and protective black salt. Mix ash and sea salt together, and run the mixture over protective incense. Praying to your guides and Mars invoking fiery protection. Keep in an airtight jar. This may be used and kept as a protective salt. This can be left in front of doors or windows as a magical barrier, or for other spells that require protection.
  7.  Close sacred space when your ritual is complete.

Cancer x July: A Summertime Symphony of Water & Warmth
Cancer x July: A Summertime Symphony of Water & Warmth

July 05, 2025 0 Comments

As the Sun dips into the fiery heart of summer, July emerges—golden, long, and lazy. And right alongside it, the zodiac’s watery guardian, Cancer, takes the helm. July is one of the few month’s of the year (next to March or April, depending on the date of Ostara) where a pagan holiday or fire festival is not observed, yet the middle of summer seems almost ritualistic in how entrenched we become with the richness of the season. Looking further, it only makes sense as to why Cancer, summer’s sweetest star sign, is the mascot to the start of summer. Here’s why the vibrancy of July and the nurturing essence of Cancer are cosmic twins—bound by symbolism, season, and soul.

Celestial Insights: The Cosmic Dance of Venus & Mercury Retrograde, March 2025

February 25, 2025 0 Comments

As we navigate the celestial currents of 2025, a unique astrological event awaits: both Venus and Mercury will be retrograde simultaneously. Venus will transition from Aries to Pisces during its retrograde, while Mercury will retrograde in Aries. This rare cosmic alignment offers a profound opportunity for introspection, reassessment, and personal growth. When these two influential planets appear to move backward in the sky, their retrograde energies prompt us to slow down and reevaluate critical aspects of our lives. While the experience may seem challenging, it ultimately serves as a chance to heal, reset, and reconnect with our true desires and intentions.
