Analysis
For those of you who have been following my astrological overviews in recent months, now is the moment I have been preaching about. For months those of us in the spiritual and astrology community have been anticipating a rare astrological event that's about to take place. This Eclipse marks (in some ways) the end of cycles, but only the beginning in what is to be six to twelve months of some massive energy shifts. What we are calling this is the Saturn Pluto Conjunction of 2020. In astrology, when heavy-hitting outer planets come together, this is an omen of profound worldly changes. In the sign of Capricorn, it’s fair to say it will very much affect just about everyone. While I could go on and on about how it’s going to change us on the world's stage- I prefer not to lead with the doom and gloom.

I prefer to look at the more transformative occurrences that take place due to Pluto transits. Pluto is ultimately the planet of death and regeneration. While it’s true, Pluto does have his dark side, there is a method to his madness. I liken Pluto to a pressure cooker. One that will keep turning up the heat, applying pressure in a specific area of your life until you can not take it anymore. This is where the magic happens. This pressure creates diamonds. Pluto is all very much connected to the abuse of power or relentless fear. I often tell my clients who are going through intense personal transits of Pluto, that he will seek out what it is you’re afraid of and serve it up on a silver platter. This is merely his formula when it comes to breaking you down to make you stronger. I encourage those of you who have a habit of repetitive thoughts of helplessness or fear to stare your issues right in the face. This month is the time to face whatever problems that have been holding you back. Time to transmute, evolve, and grow.

As with all Full Moons, this is a time of completion and release. Emotions run high, and people are likely to be taken back by how sensitive they are. Eclipses are like Full/ New Moons on steroids. What you’re wrapping up is nearly six months of previous hard work in a specific area of your life. To better understand what exactly is under construction, take a look at your own natal chart, and find what house is ruled by Capricorn. For those of you new to astrology, check out a free astrological calculator online and input your date of birth information. You’ll be glad you did. The same goes for those of you who know your chart well. Anyone with any personal placements or planets between 21-24 degrees of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) will be feeling the intensity the most.

Both the Sun and Moon make harmonious aspects to Neptune at the time of this Moon, indicating if there’s a dream, there’s a way. Many of us are partaking in some sort of “clearing” to create space for the life we hope to lead. Sometimes we get so caught up wishing or daydreaming that the universe sends us a solid shove to get the show on the road. What we don’t always understand is we must let the tower fall as it may, and bulldoze people, relationships, things, to start fresh. Relationships may very well change, but for the better. People will transition, jobs will end. What you want to watch out for are your emotions. It’s important not to suppress any feelings inside, or tears. This next month is meant to be intense, it’s the birthing pains of a new cycle. Unfortunately, with change comes resistance in some. People may push back when it comes to making significant life changes. They may bicker or manipulate. They may show a darker side of themselves. It’s important not to allow yourself to fall victim and sink to lower vibrational responses. The truth is, everyone is going to move through this the best way they can. Not everyone is going to move at your pace, and not everyone is supposed to come along for the ride.

Thankfully really, only January 10th- 16th is the most intense. Eclipse energy takes place for up to a month prior and after the date of the event. For some of you, your eclipse event has already been in motion; for others, it’s yet to come. Regardless pay close attention to both the 10th and the 12th for signs from the universe about what needs to be let go. Politically and economically, the world is about to be an eventful place. Tensions will rise, and some may threaten acts of violence or war. Practicing diplomacy is essential. The smallest act of forgiveness or kindness can go a long way. Compassion will be necessary to step out of ingrained patterns of fighting fire with fire.

RITUALISTIC INSPIRATIONS

  • Herbs: Chamomile, Burdock Root, Lavender, Ginger
  • Incense: Rosemary or Honeysuckle
  • Symbols: The Crab, maternal figure, home, and family, breasts and stomach
  • Crystals: Moonstone, Red Jasper, Selenite, Pearl

Full Moon Ritual Water

You will need:
  • A glass bowl
  • Spring water
  • Crystals of choice based on your intentions
  • Pen and paper
  • White candle (any size)
  • Lavender essential oil
Instructions:
  1. Call on sacred space and burn sage/ incense to set the intention of the area. Be sure to cast a circle of protection.
  2. Take your candle and light it. Prepare by setting out your spring water, crystals of choice, and glass bowl.
  3. Place your crystals inside the glass bowl. Whatever crystal suits your intention needs. Make sure it’s safe to place it overnight in water, as some crystals are not. Fill your glass bowl halfway with spring water, adding a few drops of lavender essential oil.
  4. Meditate on the ground facing west with your candle and bowl. Ideally, you want to meditate and visualize until you feel these things physically. When you're feeling complete with your meditation, write your manifestations on your piece of paper with your pen. Fold it towards you three times over. When finished, set it aside.
  5. Place the bowl and the intentions somewhere where it will be visible by MOONLIGHT. This should be set out overnight on Friday, January 10, 2020. This can be by a window or directly in view outside. The idea is to allow this water to be charged for magical purposes.
  6. Once you have let the crystals charge in water overnight, you may use it the following day. Ideally, this will be for a ritual bath or rinse in the shower to bring your intentions to fruition. The water may also be used as a cleansing floor wash, or potent clearing spray for your personal space. This liquid is best used immediately and is not meant to be stored for long. If need be, it can be kept in an apothecary spray bottle in the fridge for up to three days.
  7. When you're finished, be sure to close sacred space and thank your guides.
