Analysis:Overall this New Moon in Virgo is going to be a much needed helping hand from the universe. Virgo is a mutable earth sign and loves to assist in health and purification rituals. Virgo strives for perfection in many ways, always sorting and shifting through life's various challenges. This new Moon is a wonderful time to de-junk your life or lifestyle. Virgo reminds us to get down to business and clean house both literally or metaphorically speaking. To-do lists, doctors' appointments, or organizing your office all fall under Virgo's realm. This New Moon is an excellent time to ask yourself what is physically or emotionally holding you back? What is it about your habits or routines that need to change to feel better? Setting intentions to help you better balance the mind, body, and spirit will be extra important. This is a time to be mindful of your energy levels and personal boundaries. It's best to let this Moon flush out for a solid two weeks before making any significant health or financial decisions. On the other hand, it can be an excellent time for creatives and artists. Music, psychic development skills, and dreamwork will all be extra potent at the time of this New Moon. Working with elements like earth and water can be extremely beneficial for healing and divination.
At the time of this New Moon, there will be six planets in earth signs: the Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn, and Uranus. With this many planets in earth signs, it's safe to say that physical change can happen. Earth elements bring things together in a tangible way. With both the sun and moon aspects to Saturn, we can build firm, solid structures. New plans and new opportunities can move forward with confidence. With aspects to Pluto, we receive solutions and power to achieve significant transformations. Virgo is a Mercury-ruled sign. At the time of this New Moon, Mercury is in Libra. When Mercury is in Libra, we want to communicate with other people and find ways to bridge our relationships' gaps. Mercury will be in a tight square to Jupiter in Capricorn. This will bring a bit of new information and can quickly produce over-optimism. You'll want to analyze the information coming about during the time of this New Moon very carefully. The aspects of Libra to Capricorn show how we relate to other people and then, in turn, proactively plan for the future. Both career and relationship conversations are likely to take place. With Jupiter in a favorable sextile to Neptune, It's almost as if Jupiter is the vision builder for the future. Suddenly our dreams and aspirations can become very clear or vivid.
Probably the highlight of the new Moon would also be Mars' uncomfortable angles to the planets in Virgo. Aries and Virgo create what we call a quincunx or an inconjunct. Astrologically speaking, this is a funky awkward angle that is between a trine and a square formation. With this aspect, we see both signs' qualities highlighted significantly. So the more that we see Mars in Aries act intensely passionate, we see the planets in Virgo become highly skeptical or analytical. When we deal with Mars creating this aspect often leads to frustration or conflict. Now we're no stranger to these Mars-Pluto squares that we've been experiencing the last several weeks. Certainly, Saturn has been in the mix and puts a damper or a delay on some things. Mars is currently retrograde, so this will continue off and on for the next several months. You can read more about that in my monthlies for September and October.
Last but not least is the opposition between planets in Virgo and Neptune in Pisces. Now the Virgo/Pisces axis is a very sensitive one. These represent both the sixth and the twelfth house of the zodiac. These houses are almost considered to be limbo or in-between spaces on the zodiac wheel. Traditional astrologers view the sixth house as where we deal with crisis (Virgo), and they view the twelfth house as the house of the deep subconscious, undoing, or what is unseen (Pisces). Virgo is where we likely identify what's wrong or needs fixing. Pisces is where it all dissolves together into one, collectively and karmically. When we have a Moon aspect in opposition to Neptune, likely we deal with illusions or mysticism. We may feel psychically or energetically drained. Health issues can come up, and some may receive wonky test results. There may be some fuzziness or elusiveness going on. This is a time to be mindful of your energy levels and personal boundaries. The opposition to Neptune will help dispel any illusions and become more pragmatic thanks to the planets in Virgo.
You can do this in a kitchen, a gardening space, or your altar!
You will need:
Lavender and peppermint essential oil.
Any size green candle to symbolize health and abundance
The Hermit card, the ace of pentacles
A newly potted plant, any size
Pen and paper
Incense of your choice
Take your materials and set them out on a tabletop. Burn incense and open sacred space.
Take your candle and sit with it in intention. Place a few drops of each essential oil on the top of the candle.
Write your intentions on your paper with the pen. This is a New Moon- so the focus is on new habits or new manifestations.
Fold the sheet of paper three times towards you. Place the Hermit and the Ace of pentacles on top.
Set your intentions and candle next to your newly potted plant. This can be a seedling or a full plant. Allow the intentions to set there for three days.
