Analysis
Let me preface this article by saying I believe this Full Moon is overall highly beneficial; once you sort out the details. All in all, this is a Moon that wants to aid and assist in feeling better supported. Libra is a Cardinal air sign heavily associated with relationships and many other aspects of Venus. I want to talk for a moment about relationships. There’s a lot of them being tested right now in the world. Some partners are suddenly finding themselves working from home with a spouse. Others are doing what they can to cope with a loss of joint income, and are trying to pick up the slack for their mate. Children are home from school and now need tending to. Some single or “limbo” relationship people are realizing they really wish they had someone to depend on. Regardless of your situation, this experience you’re having is to make you acutely aware of your role in relationships. This Moon is going to highlight that. And by relationships, I don’t mean only the romantic ones (although Libra excels here). I mean the bosses that we work for, the legal and financial advisors, our business partners, our judges. All of those whom we expect to help us keep the balance. If you find yourself feeling “unsupported,” Jupiter and Pluto point the way to a release point. You see, the truth is Jupiter/Pluto conjunctions aren’t all THAT rare, they take place once in every twelve years. However, I see Pluto/Jupiter as an insanely potent and often powerful astrological occurrence. Many moguls and financial tycoons have these conjunctions or aspects in their natal astrology. So how does it apply to you? This aspect at the time of the Full Moon suggests the ability to unearth something genuinely beneficial and potentially even financially abundant. Venus presides over all areas of commerce, the arts, and love. For some, this will be like coming up on a winning lottery ticket, the only catch is not all of what you gain will be financial; in fact, for most, it won’t be. Perhaps some of the most valuable things that come about from this transit don’t have a price tag or financial value at all. That doesn’t make it any LESS valuable, though. Some things money can’t buy, like a loyal spouse, a financial advisor who has your best interest at heart, or perhaps a job who’s willing to pay your salary until the pandemic blows over. I encourage each and every one of you to look for the silver lining. Something about this Moon makes me feel like it’s ripe with possibility. It’s possible the “setbacks” you encounter, or “break downs” are blessings in disguise.

The Full Moon in Libra will be the Moon making it’s monthly opposition to the Sun in Aries. The Sun in Aries shines a light on our own personal energy. When we see opposition at the Aries/ Libra axis, it’s often a time where we find ourselves at a crossroads. Yes, it’s true some relationships end around this time, but some become stronger. Only the strong will survive this one. The challenging angles to both Pluto and Jupiter show you where the release of anyone or anything not in balance, is the winning ticket. This will clear space and fear revolving around partnerships. Those in challenging and toxic relationships may see a way out. Those looking for financial assistance may very well find it via the government assistant, a wealthy person of power, or an elder. Granted, this all depends on your own personal horoscope, and thus the importance of knowing where the cardinal points are in your own natal chart. Venus is the star of any Moon associated with Libra, and in this case, it’s amplified. Venus has just moved into the mutable sign of Gemini. Over the next few weeks, Venus will move into her shadow phase of Gemini, setting the stage for some more significant conversations regarding relationships in May and June 2020. Essentially, Venus in Gemini gets us talking about the human connection. Various forms of expression come from Venus in Gemini. I expect to see a LOT of relationship experts or blogs explode with advice post COVID19 pandemic. Why? Because the next few weeks will do quite a number on those committed. When the going gets tough, you figure out just how much you can- or can’t -actually depend on others. Those of you born in the early ’80s, or who have natal Saturn/Pluto contacts may have an especially challenging time.

Mars in Aquarius is stirring us, the masses, with it’s challenging angles to Uranus in Taurus. Overall this symbolizes major cultural shifts. Political unrest, riots, activists. It sounds a little strange, considering we are all confined to our homes. It’s possible in the weeks ahead certain groups push back on Saturn’s newly implemented lockdown. Mars also sextiles Chiron in Aries, laying clear foundations for self-care and healing. The silver lining, I believe, is that Libra’s ruling planet is in a sister sign (Gemini). Not only that, but Venus is now in a trine, or positive aspect, with both Mars and Saturn. Saturn wants to assist in stabilization and commitment, while Mars wants to forge forward. In early April, Mars met with Saturn in Aquarius, creating some serious “social limitations.” Now in positive flow to Venus, I believe many will strengthen conversations revolving around relationships and finances. I ALSO believe this is encouraging people to maintain relationships at a distance, developing relationships outside of the physical connection. Global relationships may be the new trend. People may find comfort texting, emailing, calling friends, and loved ones from all over the globe. Pen pals and love letters MAY just make a comeback. Call me old fashioned, but I think that’s the type of love we could all connect a little bit better to. In a world of immediate gratification and swiping left or right, we may have a stroke of salvation. Now is the time to check in on others, listen when they speak, and fall in love with the mind. This is further preparing us for May’s nodal shifts. Soon the north node will make it’s way into Gemini, revolutionizing the way we communicate and connect to one another.

Ritualistic Inspirations

Pro Tip: Feeling unmotivated or lost in your own ritual planning? Our Love and Honor Ritual Kit and Honeysuckle & Jasmine Ritual Mist carry much of the properties of the above ingredient list!

Try this:

Full Moon in Libra- Ritual Rose Water

This is an excellent base for a love potion,  or great used merely as a toner or magical wash. Rosewater has a variety of different uses. It’s especially potent for using before magic or ritual pertaining to love. This formula can be stored in a jar or bottle for up to about one week in the fridge.

Picking your own roses can be especially magical. If you can, pick fresh roses in the morning, they will be most fragrant. If you must purchase or use dried roses, opt for organic if you can. This will produce a product free of any pesticides or chemicals.

You will need:
  • One fourth cup dried red rose petals, or up to one cup fresh rose petals
  • Freshwater; filtered or bottled
  • Saucepan with a lid
  • A metal mesh sieve
  • An amber jar or spray bottle
  • Small rose quartz or clear quartz crystal. (Anything ranging from clear to pink or red)

    1. Start by removing the rose petals from the stems if you’re using fresh roses. Skip this step if you’re using dried petals.
    2. Rinse the petals with cold water a minimum of 4 to 5 times. This is to ensure you remove any residue from the plant.
    3. Pour petals into a saucepan with one and a half to three cups of water.
    4. Cover the saucepan with a lid and slowly bring it to a boil. Once it is boiling, reduce to a simmer.
    5. When the petals have released all of their color and scent, you will notice they begin to fade. When they are about colorless, you’re finished.
    6. Remove from heat and turn off the stove. Let the water cool completely.
    7. Strain the petals from the liquid using a sieve filter.
    8. Place in an amber bottle, or spray bottle. You may add small crystals to this liquid for an extra magical boost. Make a note of the date it was made. Keep in the refrigerator.

Pro Tip: Don't have time to make your own? Our Roses Ritual Mist contains rosewater and essential oil, among other yummy ingredients, to get you what you need.

Kitchen Witch" is a term used for cunning or witchy folx whose spiritual practice is rooted within food, mealtimes, and the home. Kitchen Witches craft rituals, spells and/or potions utilizing edible items, found objects, and common household items. The kitchen is their altar; their home is their sacred space. In 2014, we created our Ritual Kits, Candles and Apothecary with the idea of mixing and matching common ritualistic ingredients like lavender, rose, or patchouli that would create a perfect combination for a unique spell or intention- setting ritual...
