Now that we’ve made it through January’s intense period of eclipses, it's safe to say that this month is going to be a bit calmer. The month kicks off with mercury entering into the watery sign of Pisces. This is likely to bode well for the minds of poets and artists. For those of you in a creative workspace, you will enjoy this transit. However, mercury in Pisces tends to focus more on the emotions rather than the words. Come mid-month on the 17th mercury will go retrograde for three weeks until March 10th of this year. Mind you; the shadow period can be felt roughly a week prior. I find a retrograde through Pisces to be much more challenging than some of the other signs. Watch out for

With this New Moon, expect a strong need for emotional freedom! As with all new moons, we welcome new opportunities and experiences. This is a potent time to conduct any new rituals or habits to assist with changes. Aquarius is considered to be a fixed air element and presides over all matters revolutionizing. Adopting new and unorthodox ways of viewing the world is likely to help you in the weeks ahead. Aquarius is an incredibly intelligent and social sign, so it’s possible some quality time with a like-minded friend or group could provide...

The word “Aquarius” comes from Latin meaning “water-carrier, water-pourer.” Its astrological symbol represents water, but looks like an electrical jolt. And rightfully so—Aquarius connects us to energies of originality, eccentricity, freedom, radical expression, and epiphanies of all sorts. It craves innovation and orients us to the future and what is possible. When sparked it catalyzes creativity, new insights, or exciting novelty. Activated Aquarius energy in our society spurs...

Shiva is a complex Hindu Deity whose identity is inseparable from the Hindu Trimurti (or trinity) of Gods, composed of Brahma as Creator, Vishnu as Preserver, and Shiva as Destroyer. In that they are a trinity, neither of them is exclusively bound to the actions their names would imply, and instead each acts as a mask of inertia upon the stage that is life. The role Shiva plays in the game of life is that of a juggler who effortlessly balances the opposing forces of creation and destruction, asceticism and procreation, stillness and dancing, order and chaos. There are myths that...

I don’t know about everyone else but the shift of the new year and decade in Gregorian calendar has been intense to put it lightly. Intuitively I’ve noticed a lot of people are either sick right now, hermiting themselves, or making huge promises of “new year, new me.” All these responses are ok; however it is the dead of winter right now in the northern hemisphere, and it’s ok the rest, hibernate, and be in seclusion. With that said, perhaps it’s time to pay attention to what we can release, cleanse, and remove from our spaces, body, minds, and spirits in order to

For those of you who have been following my astrological overviews in recent months, now is the moment I have been preaching about. For months those of us in the spiritual and astrology community have been anticipating a rare astrological event that's about to take place. This Eclipse marks (in some ways) the end of cycles, but only the beginning in what is to be six to twelve months of some massive energy shifts. What we are calling this is the Saturn Pluto Conjunction of 2020. In astrology, when heavy-hitting outer planets come together, this is an omen of

This New Year is a force to be reckoned with. For this of you who have read my previous monthly overviews, this is the period of the super conjunctions I spoke of. Astrologers have spent the better part of the last few years studying and lecturing on this month's Saturn Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. This is an astrological event that takes place roughly every thirty-four years. Saturn in Capricorn favors those who put in the work and doesn't cut any corners. Pluto is in it to slowly break down anything and everything for the sake of rebirth. When you put these to bad boys together, we see some transformative, and often challenging events that produce nothing but soul growth....

What more could you ask for this holiday season? This is an incredibly joyous New Moon, Partial Solar Eclipse in Capricorn. This particular Eclipse is another in a series of eclipses that have been taking place since January of 2019, nearly one year ago. Think back to what may have developed since then. As with all eclipses, this represents a cosmic portal in time where some things come, and others go. It's important to be exceptionally patient, and in this one's case, optimistic. It doesn't quite have the doom and gloom feeling that some astrologers attach to eclipses...

Understanding Capricorn energies can also be related to Scrooge character in A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens or the wise woman or man. It’s the serious sign of the zodiac that can take time to loosen its grip on judgment and skepticism and invites us into the wisdom of time. Those born with Sun or Moon signs in Capricorn can become lighter as they get older and understand its gifts of slowing down and solitude. In its most wise expression with Capricorn, we feel stability and security in ourselves and the world around us. It connects us to...

Mojo bags are from Black American hoodoo culture and can be used for a wide variety of intentions including but not limited to protection, love, and good luck. Contrary to popular belief, Hoodoo is a sacred practice that blends many ancient African religions. In short, it is what many enslaved Africans in the Americas and the Caribbean practiced after they were stolen from their land. This tradition runs deep in my Ancestry and I’m happy to share with you how to create your own mojo bag for this month’s theme of protection.

This is one of those Full Moons that has more to it than what meets the eye. As an astrologer, this is known as the "Cold Moon," and I'm really beginning to see why. When Gemini really gets to the depths of its core traits, it can be cold and calculating. Detached, and seeking only facts or information. But this isn't why I am connecting this to being a "Cold Moon." While Gemini's usual behavior is chatty and happy go lucky, the aspects between Pluto/ Saturn/ and Venus make this lunation extra, chilly. Venus is moving into a tight conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn.

This month sure is action-packed. Expect this to be a Holiday season for the books my friends. The month begins with Jupiter making his annual move into to a new sign. Jupiter is the planet of abundance and optimism. Generally, Jupiter magnifies whatever it touches, and in Capricorn, it will be interesting. Generally speaking, Jupiter in Capricorn is considered to be in it’s "fall," or not necessarily at it's best. However, we're gearing up from December 2019- February 2020 to have a whole slew of planets in Capricorn.
