Black Tourmaline, rough

Black Tourmaline, or Schorl, is a form of tourmaline that ranges from black to very dark green. Specimens considered "lower quality" are often more brittle and contain neat inclusions such as quartz, hematite, mica, and iron. High quality specimens are shinier but do not have inclusions of other minerals. Black tourmaline does not need cleansing or charging.

Origin: Brazil, Sri Lanka, Africa (specifically Tanzania, Kenya, and Nigeria), China, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

Physical Healing Properties: Black tourmaline has been used to calm panic attacks, dispel worry, fear, judgement, anger, and many other negative emotions. It heightens the senses, ward off distractions and negativity, and also act as an aphrodisiac! 

Magic + Metaphysics: For thousands of years, many cultures have used black tourmaline to dispel negativity and to protect against evil. It is also used for purification and grounding.

Specs: Each black tourmaline piece has been hand selected. Size Extra Small is approximately .5"- 1" long, Small ranges approximately 1.5 - 2" long (or wide, depending on the cut), and size Medium is approximately 2- 3" long (or wide, depending on the cut). Most have great inclusions such as iron, mica, and/or quartz, and all have a perfectly unpolished surface- it is straight from the earth! These are from Brazil.
