Collective Energies:
This Taurus full moon awakens the need for love, connection, and pleasure. Taurus comes from the word “tau” from Greek that was originally from Hebrew and was a pictogram for sexual intercourse: the vulva and the bar of the phallus. (How’s that for showing off some of my thesis work on etymology? :P ) Venus-ruled Taurus energy puts us in touch with how we work with the erotic energy that is Earthly life.
While that may sound just fine and dandy, beware the Taurus shadow side of people pleasing, vanity, or materialism. When the needs for connection aren’t met, Taurus moon may be prone to relying on sugar, shopping, or other addictions. Instead, lean into Taurus’ resourceful and stabilizing side of this sign to explore attraction and needs that come from a place of connection rather than seduction. Another way Taurus attempts to get connected is through its own objectification or using sexuality instead of inner strength, a false sense of magnetism.
Tightly conjunct Uranus, this full moon may evoke restlessness (even though Taurus can be prone to laziness) or accentuate erotic eccentricities, might be best to channel the energy into emotional awareness or creativity. Stay attuned towards the emotions cultivating awareness while doing your best to relax the nervous system, as these are two things that often come up with strong Uranus-Moon contacts. Uranus often believes it is in it alone, or a lone wolf, instead remember the need for connection that Venus/Taurus activates.
This moon has a double Venus vibrancy as it is in Taurus and also opposite retrograding Venus in Scorpio. Perhaps indicating the remainder of this lunar phase with the heavy focus on relationships and intimacy-with the self and the other. Venus also has a supportive trine with Saturn reminding us that the slow, long-term burn is actually better than love at first sight (a Uranus in Taurus theme). The moon also squares the North and South Nodes and adds yet another layer to releasing the past and moving towards an aligned future.
This full moon evokes our erotic nature and perhaps with it our eccentricities around love. It plays with the polarity of commitment and freedom in relationships. Below are some ways to work with what could feel disorienting or disconnecting while Taurus craves stability and love above all else. Though we may lean into a desire to possess in order to self sooth, evoke your own sense of possession and love during this pique of lunar energy.
Everyday Ritual Recommendations:
BE // Practice mindfulness of the senses such as eating, meditation, or closing the eyes to sense and listen more deeply
DO // Awaken your pleasures whether it be good food, music, or sex (solo or with a partner)
EAT // Decadent tastes excite Taurus such as chocolate or floral flavors, or access the excitable Uranus energy by eating something new.
WEAR // Something that feels soft or receptive and spunky. Possibilities may include: pastels, pinks, floral patterns (who cares if it is fall!, or bold stripes
